3-4 | MOBILITY OPTIONS Table 3-1 | Federal Requirements of the LRTP FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS As a federally designated transportation planning authority, the Miami-Dade MPO is required to coordinate the transportation planning activities for the Miami urbanized area. This includes the planning and programming of federal funds through the LRTP and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which is a subset of the LRTP. To ensure compliance, the 2040 Plan is required to address statutory requirements as set forth by federal law and regulations as shown in Table 3-1 . The 2040 Plan was developed in adherence with the federal requirements listed below.
