This project will be an important part of capacity improvements to the full length of the Turnpike (SR-821), urgently needed in response to existing congestion and anticipated continued growth in traffic demand. The project to widening this section of the southern Turnpike (SR-821) from 4-lanes to 6-lanes is included in the Tentative Work Program.
