The County will face challenges as it grows and continues to prosper as both a major player in the global economy and the chosen home of more than 2 million people. Those challenges, however, can also be viewed as opportunities to both preserve the character and improve the function of Miami-Dade County and to propel Miami- Dade forward to a promising future. The County’s growth and infrastructure trends call for cutting edge transportation solutions befitting of a global hub of commerce and lifestyle. As a global hub, Miami attracts many visitors every year. The Greater Miami Convention and Visitor Bureau estimated the area had 13.9 million overnight visitors in 2013.
